The Senior Accountant is dedicated to multiple, specified departments and business units, and for that population, has primary responsibility for daily, monthly and annual accounting processes. He/she analyzes and administers the company's daily financial operations and activity on a timely basis in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and the Company's accounting policies and procedures.

• Review and record the financial activity of Chicago Baseball Holdings and other related entities during monthly, quarterly and annual closing procedures
• Ensure all revenues, expenses, and balance sheet items are properly and accurately recorded and results in the accurate and timely presentation of the financial condition of the Company, in accordance with GAAP
• Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts to minimize the company's exposure to the misappropriation of assets and to ensure all revenue and expenses are properly recorded or accrued
• Serve as the primary accounting support for multiple department heads and staff: providing and analyzing key financial information and evaluating and presenting options related to actuals (and to a lesser extent projections) and serve as main resource for departments for general questions related to accounting, GL coding, and reporting
• Analyze and report on financial information as compared to budgeted and historical data for the Company
• Elevate accounting and close issues to management as deemed necessary
• Assist with the implementation of new accounting guidance, as applicable
• Initiate and implement changes in accounting procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Assist in preparation of supporting schedules and financial statement reports for multiple audits, including audits performed by public accounting firm(s), Major League Baseball, and government entities
• Perform responsibilities in other department processes
• Perform ad hoc reporting requests for Senior Management team and/or Major League Baseball.
• Work with the Finance team to ensure appropriate knowledge transfer between plan/projection financials and monthly actual financials

• Process documentation
• Software implementation, upgrades and/or enhancements: Sage, Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, TDC, Salesforce CRM
• Re-design of supporting workbooks for audits, and footnote process improvements
• Process improvement initiatives

• Determine what close information needs to be communicated to Finance team each month
• Initiate and execute process improvements in daily activities
• Provide analysis and guidance to department heads in each monthly close (e.g., accrual recommendations, projection "push" decisions)
• Day to day journal entry judgement decisions (e.g., which account, which company) and standard monthly close decisions
• Resolution of reconciling items

• A four-year undergraduate degree in Accounting from an accredited university or college
• Minimum of 1.5 years of accounting and/or audit experience (2 busy seasons)
• CPA or progression toward CPA
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
• Strong accounting knowledge, interpersonal skills and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in an organized manner and manage time efficiently and effectively
• Ability to prioritize workload; take ownership and administer projects with little guidance

• Advanced degree
• Big Four audit experience
• 3-4 years of accounting and/or audit experience
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Management Reporter, Adaptive Insights, Salesforce CRM, TDC
